About MDPI Switzerland
A pioneer in scholarly open access publishing, MDPI has supported academic communities since 1996. Our mission is to foster open scientific exchange in all forms, across all disciplines. We operate more than 200 diverse, peer-reviewed, open access journals supported by over 35,500 academic editors. We serve scholars from around the world to ensure the latest research is openly and broadly available.
MDPI Headquarters are located in the pleasant city of Basel, a northwestern city of Switzerland on the Rhine river, since 1996.
As our headquarters, the office in Basel comprises of primarily functional roles such as Finance, HR or IT supporting our employees around the world and the local English editing team contributing to Open Science.
We are committed to ensuring that high quality research is made available as quickly as possible. We also support sustainability projects, with sustainability as a key theme in many journals and through the MDPI Sustainability Foundation.
Basel is home to a large number of globally leading companies in the pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, medical engineering, logistics, finance, IT and communications technology sector. Basel is Switzerland's oldest university city (more than 550 years) and one of Europe's leading teaching and research locations for the life sciences, medical research, energy engineering and cultural sciences.
Ideally located in this science-rich cluster, the 50+ MDPI employees enjoy the vibrant cultural scene, particularly in art and theater.
